GETTING STARTED

Download and Install USB Driver for Android Phone

  1. Download USB Driver for Android Phone:
    1. Click Support | Drivers in the top right corner of the browser window.
    2. Click Download for Windows at the bottom of the browser window.
    3. Click Save in the File Download dialog.
    4. Verify MotorolaDeviceManager_2.4.5.exe appears in the File name field in the Save As dialog then click Save.
    5. Wait for the download to complete then click Close in the Download complete dialog.

  2. Verify that USB Driver for Android Phone was downloaded correctly:
    1. Click Start | My Computer on the Windows taskbar.
    2. Double click the Local Disk (C:) drive in the My Computer window.
    3. Double click the Downloads directory.
    4. Right click the MotorolaDeviceManager_2.4.5.exe file then click Properties in the popup menu.
    5. Verify that 33,586,888 bytes appears in the Size field in the Properties dialog.
    6. Click X in the top right corner of the Properties dialog.

  3. Install USB Driver for Android Phone:
    1. Double click the MotorolaDeviceManager_2.4.5.exe file in the My Computer window.
    2. Wait until the Open File dialog appears then click Run.
    3. Wait until the Welcome dialog appears then click Next.
    4. Wait until the License Agreement dialog appears then click I accept and Install.
    5. Wait for the installation to complete then click Close in the Congratulations dialog.
    6. Click X in the top right corner of the My Computer window.

  4. Connect Android Phone to Computer:
    1. Connect the Android phone to the computer using the USB cable.
    2. Wait until the Unlock screen appears in the Android phone.
    3. Drag the Unlock icon to the right to unlock the Android phone.
    4. Drag the Notications bar down until the USB connection icon appears then press it.
    5. Verify that PC Mode is selected in the popup list (if not, press it) then press OK.
    6. Press the Menu key at the bottom of the Android phone.
    7. Press the Settings option.
    8. Scroll to and press Applications in the Settings list.
    9. Press Development in the Application settings list.
    10. Press USB debugging in the Development list.
    11. Press OK in the Allow USB debugging dialog.
    12. Press the Back key unitl the Launcher icon appears then press it.
    13. Wait until the application icons appear.
    14. Wait until the browser window appears then click X in the top right corner of the browser window.
    15. Right click Motorola Device Manager in the System tray on the Windows taskbar.
    16. Click When device connects | Do nothing in the popup menu.
